Sweet Annie, also known as Annual Mugwort is a medicinal plant that has been used in China for thousands of years and is classified as a Novel Food in Europe. The best known and most studied active ingredient is artemisinin, which appears to boost the immune system by increasing the number of white blood cells. It is also rich in sesquiterpenes, flavonoids, minerals, bitter compounds and essential oils. Dr Youyou was awarded the Nobel Prize in Medicine in 2015 for discovering the effect of artemisinin in the treatment of malaria.
Artemisia Annua is particularly valued for its anti-parasitic and anti-inflammatory properties. Many doctors, such as Dr Lüscher, recommend Artemisia as a natural remedy for malaria, HIV and cancer, as it has little resistance. Dr Klinghardt uses it for Lyme disease, babesiosis, detoxing and SARS-CoV-2 infections. Dr Simonsohn claims this plant in her book as The healing plant of the gods.
